We have been awarded a Horizon 2020 phase 1 grant from the European Union to develop LiverMultiScan for use in children and adolescents with chronic liver disease:
Professor Stefan Neubauer, our CMO, and the team from Perspectum were recently awarded a €50,000 phase 1 grant from the European Union Horizon 2020 research funding programme, to develop LiverMultiScan for use in children and adolescents with chronic liver disease. They are now preparing the groundwork for a large scale international multicentre trial of LiverMultiScan. A network of leading tertiary paediatric liver centres across Europe (London, Birmingham, Rome, Warsaw, Hannover) has already been formed, and the team is developing a Horizon 2020 phase 2 proposal which, if successful, would provide several million Euro to fund this trial. The ultimate goal is to replace liver biopsy in the majority of children in whom this invasive procedure is currently the only reliable test to assess their liver disease.
